Welcome to Baxter, a picturesque town nestled in rolling hills and surrounded by lush forests. Famous for its breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural history.

At its heart lies the historic Town Hall, built in 1856, and streets lined with antique storefronts that transport you to the past.

Yet, beyond its peaceful façade, the town holds secrets. Across Jeminson Creek lies a dense, mysterious forest teeming with wildlife—black bears, wolves and bobcats. While the forest enchants nature lovers, it can be dangerous for the unprepared.

Adding to its allure is the enduring legend of a mythical beast said to roam these woods. Whether myth or reality, this tale remains a part of Baxter's storied heritage.

Town Lore
For decades the town of Baxter has been shadowed by a dark secret. A secret that helps to justify why so many people have gone missing. Why livestock have been found mutilated. To some it might sound like a ridiculous fable. But to the ones that claim to have witnessed this beast that roams the woods it is very real.

Witnesses claim that past Jeminson Creek a creature lives. Something not quite human, bear nor wolf. They say its covered in fur as thick as vines. That its victims are mauled near to death before the ground reaches up and engulfs them.
