Deor is a crime thriller set in the early 90s that follows Detective Harper Aconite – a gifted, but troubled, New York City detective. After she’s put on temporary leave for abusing her authority, Rookie FBI Agent Ethan Cole gives her a chance to redeem herself. He’s been quietly investigating a case in the small town of Baxter in upstate NY and needs her help. Two young sisters Helen and Scarlet Meyer accidentally stumble upon a horrific murder scene. Only Helen never comes home.
The towns sheriff, Elroy Dalton, has a theory: A bear attacked the victim, possibly taking Helen as well. The town has a history of these types of attacks dating back to 1959. Some townies believe it’s a monster – a mythical beast that punishes the wicked.
Harper and Ethan doubt this theory, too much evidence leads to the contrary. The detectives consult Cory Wayland. A local trapper who lives with his blind mother Ruth. A trail of clues leads them to uncover a problem larger than they initially thought.
Without telling Harper, Ethan brings in the FBI to take over the case. Feeling betrayed, Harper goes on her own to interview Helen’s sister, Scarlett. The young girl opens up about what she saw that morning in the woods. Scarlet reveals it was an animal, but not just any animal – a man monster.
Harper realizes she needs Cole as much as he needs her. Combining both their recent discoveries, the two detectives move closer to an unsettling and horrific truth. A truth that digs up Harpers past.

To some it might sound like a ridiculous fable. But to the ones that claim to have witnessed this beast that roams the woods it is very real.
Witnesses claim that past Jeminson Creek a creature lives. Something not quite human, bear nor wolf. They say its covered in fur as thick as vines. That its victims are mauled near to death before the ground reaches up and engulfs them.
